BlytheTeam Spotlight: Dwayne Carey, CPA (inactive), MS

Dwyane CareyAfter hearing about Blythe Global Advisors’ entrepreneurial nature from a colleague, Dwayne joined BGA in 2019, bringing more than twenty years of consulting experience and expansive background in business, economics and accounting to the team.

As director of BGA’s Risk Compliance & Analytics Practice, Dwayne applies his background in internal audit to provide a variety of services including finance and accounting services, IT, operations, M&A due diligence, active prediction and quantitative analysis modeling techniques. In addition to his work with data analytics, his daily responsibilities include managing client relationships, coordinating projects, providing consultative advice, improving processes and ensuring that deliverables are executed in a timely manner.

A Certified Public Accountant (inactive) within the state of California, Dwayne has a master’s degree in business analytics from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Claremont Makenna College. He began his career as a senior accountant at Deloitte’s Los Angeles office, where he worked with a range of businesses in the technology, manufacturing and consumer business groups. During this time, he worked with businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. After leaving Deloitte, Dwayne held several other senior roles within the Los Angeles area, including Manager in Strategic Planning at Blue Cross of California and Vice President of Internal Audit at Prospect Medical Holdings.

In terms of professional goals, Dwayne consistently strives to be a leader within the firm. He has plans to continue to help grow the risk advisory practice and build out a data analytics sub-practice.

When asked about his favorite part about working with BGA, Dwayne answered that he enjoys both the talents of his peers and the extremely collaborative environment among the team. Dwayne also noted that he enjoys working on dynamic, interesting projects and helping clients achieve their professional goals. He is motivated by his ability to make a positive influence on companies in various stages of development, ranging from budding start-ups to large companies experiencing explosive growth.

Outside of the office, Dwayne enjoys volunteering his time coaching baseball and serving of the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast.
