Amin Berrah has always been wired to ask one question: Why?
- Why does a process work the way it does?
- Why does a requirement exist in the first place?
- And just as importantly, why does it actually matter?
That curiosity is what led him into a career in compliance. And it continues to shape how he works with clients today.
Turning Complexity into Clarity

Amin’s background spans nearly 20 years across risk management, including internal and external audit, legal compliance, and advisory. That breadth allows him to move fluidly between teams that don’t always speak the same language—finance, IT, operations, and governance—and help them align around practical, well-supported solutions.
His experience also spans a wide range of industries, including higher education, aerospace, entertainment, and healthcare. That exposure has given him a broad perspective on how organizations operate and how risk manifests differently depending on scale, maturity, and resources.
Today, he helps organizations navigate complex compliance environments, particularly IT general controls and SOX requirements. His work often includes evaluating system access, designing controls, and helping teams turn fragmented processes into something structured, defensible, and workable.
But he’s quick to point out that his role isn’t about enforcing rules. It’s about making them make sense.
Beyond the Checklist
Rather than treating compliance as a checklist, Amin focuses on the “why behind the requirement.” He helps clients understand the underlying risk so they can make smarter, more efficient decisions.

Amin brings an “executive lens” to his work, recognizing that compliance decisions don’t exist in isolation. Every recommendation has implications on time, budget, operations, and broader organizational risk.
That’s especially true as IT environments continue to grow more complex. With more integrations, automation, data movement, and layers of system access, what were once technical considerations have become critical business risks. As a result, system access and security are now among the most common sources of audit issues.
In Amin’s experience, these challenges rarely come down to negligence. More often, they stem from environments that haven’t fully kept pace with that complexity. His role is to help clients step back, understand how risk actually flows through their organization, and put structure in place that holds up—both operationally and from an audit perspective.

Amin believes that trust is built through transparency. He’s direct with clients, walks them through his reasoning, and clearly connects decisions back to risk so there’s no ambiguity around why something matters.

Outside the Office
Amin grew up in the Washington, D.C. suburbs and moved to California after law school in 2013. He graduated from the University of Maryland, where he also played rugby—an experience that helped shape his competitive mindset and team-first approach.
Today, he’s based in Henderson, Nevada with his partner, Rina, a Director of Tax Consulting for a wealth management firm, and their Maltese, Yuki, who by his account, has a surprisingly big personality for a seven-pound dog.
When he’s not working, Amin and Rina make the most of any downtime by traveling, often planning trips around major sporting events. This year includes stops at the French Open in Paris and the World Cup in San Francisco—combining his love of travel with his passion for sports.
