We are proud to share that Kacey Uwakwe, CPA, has been named one of San Diego Business Journal‘s 40 Under 40 Business Changemakers, a recognition honoring the region’s most accomplished young leaders for their innovation, leadership, and impact across industries.
The honor reflects a career built on technical excellence and a commitment to lifting up the people and community around him. A San Diego State University graduate with dual degrees in Accountancy and Economics, Kacey has spent the last 15 years helping public and private companies across life sciences, technology, and other growth-oriented industries. At Ernst & Young, he advanced to Assurance Senior Manager, leading complex audits and SEC reporting engagements for companies with market capitalizations of up to $2 billion.
Kacey joined Blythe Global Advisors in 2025 to help lead and expand the firm’s San Diego practice, bringing deep expertise in technical accounting, SOX compliance, and financial reporting. Today, he is a trusted advisor to executive teams and audit committees, guiding clients through their most complex reporting matters while helping establish the firm’s growing presence in one of the country’s most dynamic business markets.
His impact extends well beyond client work. Kacey is a dedicated volunteer with Junior Achievement of San Diego, supporting financial literacy programs such as JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, and he stays closely connected to the regional business community through organizations like the Association for Corporate Growth and Financial Executives International. He is also a longstanding member of Torrey Pines Church, where he leads the coffee ministry and helps create a welcoming environment for hundreds of attendees each week.
Throughout his career, Kacey has been defined by his willingness to take on a challenge and grow through it, whether mastering high-stakes communication with senior leadership or leading large teams under demanding deadlines. That same drive now anchors his work at Blythe Global Advisors and his commitment to the San Diego community he serves.
