BlytheTeam Spotlight: Marco Miralaie, CISA, CCSK

At Blythe Global Advisors (BGA), our people are the firm. The strength of the BlytheTeam comes from professionals who combine deep technical expertise with curiosity, problem-solving, and a commitment to helping clients succeed. Marco Miralaie brings those qualities together with a genuine passion for technology and building what comes next.

From Curiosity to Career

Marco’s path into technology began long before it became a profession. As a self-described “tech nerd,” he grew up fascinated by computers, gaming, and understanding how systems worked behind the scenes.

“I grew up during the dial-up era,” he says. “If you wanted to get online or game with friends, you had to figure out why your connection was dropping, or why something on your computer wasn’t working the way it should. You had to adjust settings, troubleshoot issues, and just keep working at it until you found the solution.”

“I think that’s where it started for me. There was kind of a natural requirement to understand how computers worked and how the systems fit together.”

That early curiosity naturally evolved into a career in information technology (IT). Marco worked in IT roles while earning his degree at Cal State University, Fullerton, building experience in infrastructure, networking ,and system administration. Over time, his interests shifted toward security and compliance, an area that combines technical complexity with structured, analytical thinking.

An early turning point came when he helped a logistics company strengthen its security and technology controls, enabling the organization to win significant new business. “That was one of the first big wins in my career,” Marco recalls. “That’s when I realized how much businesses need strong security and technology controls, and how much impact that work can have.”

It was also where Marco discovered the auditing process itself. Working alongside auditors, he was drawn to how they assessed environments, broke things down methodically, and asked the hard questions. “I’m kind of a natural skeptic,” he says. “I want to dig into the things that matter and really understand what’s going on. I think that’s a key characteristic that makes a good auditor.”

From there, Marco moved into dedicated information security and audit roles, leading complex engagements for global organizations including Amazon, Intuit, Hulu, Autodesk, Mercury Insurance, Green Dot, and Blue Beam. Across those experiences, he built a reputation for navigating highly technical environments and translating risk into clear business terms, a combination of depth and perspective.

Expanding Cybersecurity at BGA

When Marco joined BGA in 2024, he saw an opportunity to build.

“What drew me in was the chance to help expand things,” he explains. “Blythe felt like a place where I could flex more of my entrepreneurial tendencies, not just deliver work, but help build something.”

Today, Marco’s primary focus is expanding BGA’s cybersecurity offerings, including SOC 2 readiness, cybersecurity assessments, and ISO 27001 internal audits, and much more. He is focused on continuing to develop a cybersecurity practice that allows clients to address security, compliance, and technical risk within a single trusted advisory relationship.

“Many of the companies we work with need these services,” Marco says. “My goal is to help build out the practice and lead those engagements with the same level of service I’ve delivered throughout my career.”

Life Outside the Screen

Over the past year, Marco stepped into his most important role yet: father.

“I think the greatest story of my life so far has just been being a dad,” he says. “I wasn’t expecting how much it would really change me as a person.”

Fatherhood has reshaped his perspective and priorities, grounding his long-term vision both at work and at home.

While gaming once played a larger role in his free time, these days life as a father keeps him busy. When he does find downtime, he enjoys date nights with his wife or diving into side projects involving technology, often coding or developing new applications that allow him to blend creativity with his technical skills.

Looking Ahead

Marco is focused on continuing to build, both personally and professionally. At BGA, that means expanding cybersecurity capabilities, deepening client impact, and helping organizations navigate an increasingly complex technology and risk landscape. And at home, it means embracing the journey of parenthood and eagerly watching who his son becomes, whether that includes technology or something entirely his own.
