A seasoned CPA and respected finance and accounting leader, Daniel brings two decades of experience spanning audit, technical accounting, capital markets, and corporate finance. His background includes tenure at multiple Big 4 offices across three countries, private industry leadership, and a proven record guiding companies on complex regulatory and transactional matters.
Daniel joins a team of professionals that includes over 10 former Big 4 partners, enhancing BGA’s unmatched depth of technical knowledge, industry expertise, and strategic advisory capabilities. His international perspective and cross-functional experience further our ability to help clients confidently navigate today’s dynamic and global business environment.
Daniel’s career includes leadership roles at Ernst & Young LLP in the U.S., Netherlands, and Korea, as well as at Baker Tilly and CTC Global Corporation, where he most recently served as Vice President of Finance. In this role, he led the company through a successful private equity acquisition and oversaw strategic financial operations, global expansion initiatives, and ERP system implementation.
His technical expertise and leadership accomplishments include:
- Leading the successful acquisition of a private company to a private equity firm, collaborating directly with investment bankers and industry professionals;
- Directing audit teams of 20+ professionals on complex global engagements across diverse industries, managing both public engagements and high-profile clients under tight deadlines;
- Managing U.S. IPO audit readiness for international clients;
- Providing expert guidance on ASC 842, revenue recognition, and complex debt and equity instruments;
- Advising on IFRS and U.S. GAAP compliance, including SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements;
- Leading capital markets transactions and cross-border offerings;
- Driving global tax strategy, financial risk management, and transfer pricing initiatives;
- Serving as a technical reviewer and trainer on accounting and audit best practices.
Daniel is fluent in Korean and brings a global mindset shaped by his international assignments and cross-border collaborations. His clients have included recognized names such as Envista, James Hardie, AVID Bioservices, Exemplis, Insight Investments, Crossover, Staples, HP, and Canon.
