Will Richards is BGA’s Director of Risk Advisory Services (RAS) and Technical Accounting. He is an asset for the firm in all areas of business advisory services with a primary focus on governance, risk and compliance, internal audit and process improvements. He works with clients specializing in U.S. GAAP and SEC financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, internal audit, risk management/compliance, lease accounting, technical accounting, financial transformation and data analytics.
Additionally, Will frequently serves as an interim CFO/Controller assisting clients with complete and accurate financial statements as well as implementing processes and systems to streamline their accounting function. His industry expertise spans across financial services, software, gaming and casino sectors, retail and entertainment, and more.
Will joined BGA in 2018, brought on board by his longtime friend and colleague, BGA partner Sal Sarabosing. The firm recently faced the sudden and tragic loss of Sal, a loss deeply felt throughout the company. Will, who greatly admired Sal as a colleague, friend, and mentor, strives to honor his legacy in all his endeavors at BGA.
Will prides himself on being meticulously prepared for all things and is guided by a simple principle of John Wooden from his days at UCLA: “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.” Will takes great pride in solving complex issues for clients and streamlining their compliance in an efficient manner. He is supported by the tight-knit team at BGA who help strengthen relationships amongst personnel as well as encourage a strong rapport with clients.
Will is an avid fan of playing and watching the NBA as well as college basketball. He has also recently taken up golfing. He loves wine tasting and has traveled to several regions across the western United States, most recently to Napa Valley where he discovered a couple of new favorite wines – Quintessa and Round Pond.
Looking forward, Will is compiling a travel bucket list of places he wants to visit, including Japan, Italy, and Egypt.
