BlytheTeam Spotlight: Emilie Guilbaud, CISA

Meet Emilie Guilbaud, the IT professional businesses turn to when navigating cybersecurity risks, readiness and internal controls. Emilie leads BGA’s IT advisory and compliance practice with a clear mission of helping clients navigate an increasingly complex technology and cybersecurity landscape.

With over 20 years of experience in IT assurance, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance and business risk, she delivers deep knowledge and a calm-under-pressure presence that ensures clients feel confident in their systems.

Emilie spent two decades at Grant Thornton, where she specialized in IT audits and SOX-related compliance efforts, starting in its London offices before relocating to the U.S. in 2010. She brought her expertise to BGA in late 2024. The main reason she joined BGA? The people.

“I previously worked with Sal Sarabosing, and in the times I met Marc Blythe and Matt deMontesquiou, I deeply respected their team’s approach, skill and experience,” Emilie says. “They’re serious about doing excellent work, but also about being good people. This extends to our clients, too. They often come to us in tough, high-stress moments but they are all trying to do the right thing and treat our team with such respect.”

Throughout her career, she’s led teams supporting external IT audits, SOX compliance efforts and strategic cybersecurity initiatives across industries including tech, manufacturing, retail and financial services.

At BGA, Emilie oversees a team of IT professionals who support private and public companies through every stage of preparing for SOX, ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and SOC (System and Organization Controls) and other regulatory frameworks.

“In the world we live in, our clients are increasingly system based and face a greater number of cybersecurity risks,” Emilie said. “We work to ensure they have the right protections in place to manage their systems and data while having a clear picture of what’s happening in their systems.”

Whether helping clients implement a system, recover from a breach or build out internal controls, Emilie takes a collaborative, solutions-focused approach that ensures both compliance and certainty.

Outside the office, Emilie enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young kids and their energetic boxer. She also engages in women’s leadership initiatives. Emilie loves skiing, hiking, spending time at the beach, traveling home to Ireland or going on a getaway to France or Spain.
